Orthokeratology or corneal reshaping has now been established as a safe and effective treatment for the treatment of myopic refractive error as well as having an evidence based positive impact on myopic progression. The penetration of this amazing technology into eye care practice has been limited most commonly due to a lack of understanding of how to incorporate it in an efficient and effect manner. We will review many of the basic tenants of ortho-k/corneal reshaping which will allow attendees to take the important first steps in bringing this treatment to their practices. Methods of action, available lens designs, numerous fitting approaches and most importantly problem solving will be presented. In addition, we will discuss how to approach various elements of ortho-k/corneal reshaping practice management that will bring success to your practices.
