A large portion of the average ophthalmic practice's income is from optical sales. Though Optical sales may look easy, it is a skill to be learned, developed, and refined on a daily basis. As a dispenser we are continually aware that lenses and frames are constantly updated, becoming technically superior than the last. You have the responsibility to learn, and recommend the appropriate lenses and frames to provide the optimum patient fit and visual acuity.
