This course considers detection of both vascular and neurodegenerative elements of diabetic retinopathy using novel technologies like chromatic contrast thresholding, ERG, OCT and OCTA, multiuspectral and ultra-widefield retinal imaging. New strategies for prevention and remediation of early deficits beyond banal recommendations for "good diabetes control" will be considered
