Dr. Sherrol A. Reynolds received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Florida and attended NSU College of Optometry where she earned her Doctor of Optometry in 1996 and pursued a residency in primary care optometry. She was an Associate Professor of Optometry at NSU College of Optometry for nearly two decades and served as the course instructor for the Clinical Medicine and Physical Diagnosis courses, and clinical attending in the diabetes and macular clinic. Currently, she is a consultative optometrist at Your Eye Specialist and adjunct faculty at NSU. She is a Fellow in the American Academy of Optometry and the Optometric Retinal Society. She has been involved in numerous research and publications on ocular disease. Apart from her passion in academia, Dr. Reynolds serves as the current President of the National Optometric Association (NOA). She was awarded the National Optometric Association (NOA) Optometrist of the Year in 2013. She also serves as chair of the Florida Optometric Association Healthy Eye Healthy People committee and the NOA's liaison to the National Eye Institute (NEI) National Eye Health Education Program (NEHEP). And, she serves a volunteer member of the Prevent Blindness Scientific Advisory Committee. She has served as a monthly columnist for the Optometric Management Journal Retina column for the past three years. Dr. Reynolds spends a great deal of time giving back to the community. She helped coordinate a number of community service events in the underserved communities and participated in the NSU Jamaica Medical Mission trip, an international outreach mission to underserved communities in rural Jamaica, for the past fifteen years. She also mentors at risk high school student in Broward county through the Women of Tomorrow (WOT) mentoring and scholarship program for over ten years.
