Blair Wong is a licensed optician and the founding Chair of the Eye Health Technology Department at the Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology, a position he has held since 2006. Professor Wong is a nationally recognized lecturer on Ophthalmic Optics, and Assistant Professor of Optics at the New England College of Optometry where he also serves as faculty advisor. He is dedicated to helping students pursue careers in optometry and as an example of his creativity and enthusiasm, his students at both colleges have formed a partnership program in which free eye exams and glasses are provided to vision needy school children in the Boston area and surrounding cities and towns. In the last four years, more than a thousand children, ranging in age from head start to high school, have received exams and glasses as a result of this program. Blair has over 30 years of experience in the optical profession and currently is the Executive Director to the Opticians Association of MA. He has earned a Master of Ophthalmic Optics from the American Board of Opticians, the highest level of certification in Opticianry. Blair also serves as a director to the American Board of Opticianry and a director to the Vision Foundation of the Opticians Association of America.
