Think About Your Eyes is a national public awareness campaign, presented by The Vision Council and the American Optometric Association, designed to educate the public on the benefits of vision health and promote the importance of getting an annual comprehensive eye exam.

  • Patients who take action because of Think About Your Eyes have a shorter exam cycle—from 24 months to 14 months, a time span cut by nearly half.
  • Patients are purchasing at a higher rate—a 34% increase in contact lens sales, a 41% increase in glasses sales—this means growth for the industry.
  • In 2017, 3.4 million eye exams* can be attributed to the campaign, resulting in industry revenue of $752 million.

The Vision Council has garnered more than 900+ million social media, broadcast and online media impressions for National Sunglasses Day 2018, while securing overwhelming industry support and promotions on June 27. Additionally, one of the campaign's official hashtags #NationalSunglassesDay was trending on Twitter throughout the day.
